I enjoyed Laila’s presentation very much. Everything was so well organized and clearly explained. Lots of useful content, a couple of eye-openers, and most importantly – the encouragement to use the AI tools while keeping the beast under control. Laila is a ‘natural teacher’ – knowledgeable, eloquent, enthusiastic and friendly. A+!
Laila did a fantastic job. I think she judged her audience well–some of us have dabbled, other have mostly ignored ChatGPT. She gave a great overview and gave a relevant examples with the syllabus prompts.
I appreciated this session very much. Laila had such a thoughtful and organized approach, and was clearly so knowledgeable and passionate about the topic. Was really great to hear a student perspective on generative AI and also to have an opportunity for hands-on practice. I’ve been to lots of sessions lately that focus on the instructors’ perspective on Chat GPT and discuss all kinds of relevant issues and/or potentials, but this was the first time I found myself wanting to dive deeper into actually experimenting with the tool myself for work-related (and non-work-related) tasks.
Laila! I think I had mentioned in the workshop that you moved me from red to yellow. Thanks to you, literally 3 days after your workshop, I signed up for ChatGPT and I used it to help me with two different questions to complete a homework assignment. It’s like the universe is looking after me through you!!! It was so instrumental in helping me with my assignment and if I hadn’t had your workshop it would not have been an option for me. Very cool! Keep doing what you are doing. You demystified the beginnings of this technology for me!
This was an informative workshop that helped me put AI into the context of my current work.
Laila provided a very clear and fast-paced seminar on AI and the practical implications of using it in an academic setting that goes beyond the ethical queries many information professionals are currently faced with. During a time where there are lots of questions surrounding AI, her informative talk offered unique perspective I haven’t (otherwise) encountered in academia (so far). Thank you!
I was able to join the viewing session today and really enjoyed it. Laila is a very good facilitator, and the session was interesting and helpful. I especially appreciate the breakdown of how AI works (the visuals of that part helped a lot too) and the example of a good prompt. I use ChatGPT occasionally but don’t realize I’m not making the most out of it because my prompts most of the time sound like a Google search. I also appreciate her real examples of AI bias. I learned and talked about this a lot in CMNS courses, but most of them were about much older examples that might no longer apply. It’s helpful to hear about more recent cases. I learned a lot!
